OUR PHILOSOPHY

We are child oriented and we pay attention to the whole child. We treat children with the dignity and care they deserve.

Things that are important to children are important to us. We attend to their social and emotional needs by talking to them, guiding them throughout the day and encouraging friendships and social skills. A kind word, a listening ear, a gentle environment and an age-appropriate schedule make the child feel special.

When children have the feeling of comfort, trust and success, which are so important to the growth process, they feel secure in exploring, learning and creating new things.

CURRICULUM

Our curriculum is based on the belief that children learn best when they are exposed to a variety of learning experiences. We expose children to an array of learning experiences and encourage exploration.

Each classroom is designed for the children to be able to successfully create and learn through manipulative play, blocks, puzzles, science, cooking and dramatic play. Our playground is designed to encourage role-playing and fun!

Your child's classroom has a schedule of activities developed to suit the ages and attention spans of the children. These activities incorporate experiences with art, crafts, environmental science, self-help skills and language and readiness skills to promote thinking, learning and creativity.

Each activity is part of a skill-based curriculum that allows each child to learn to the best of his or her ability. Each child is taught in a manner that enhances feelings of success and achievement. Skill goals are age-appropriate and unique for each child.

As your child progresses through the school, from age one through fifth grade, he or she will be adding onto the "old" skills and building new ones. Progress will be communicated to you by your child's teacher.
